In case somehow you have not heard about the Big One, this is it: a huge demonstration at the Houses of Parliament involving originally Extinction Rebellion and now everyone from WWF and the RSPB to the Nurses Union and faith groups from across the land.
Protest is the sixth pillar of climate action that every self-respecting climate activist does. Perhaps not obviously, anyone who is concerned about climate change is a climate activist in some way and the six pillars are the guide to how to be more effective at it.
Protest can be either demonstration – going on a march and waving a placard – or non-violent direct action, where you can get arrested for your efforts but you hopefully make a very valid point. Because the Big One is organised by XR who have a reputation for non-violent direct action, you may think it will involved direct action. However, it won’t. The whole Big One is already approved by the police.
Find out who you know is already going or wants to go, and check out the link below about where would be best for you from all the things that are being organised.
