AI and Us

Join us for an interactive exploration of AI’s real-world impact.
We will find out what Artificial Intelligence is with: a short history until now; the different types of AIs, including the most currently discussed: Generative AIs; and an overview of how they work.
We will then uncover the hidden environmental and social impacts but also geo-political dependencies, and different risks.
Through guided questions, you will find out:
- Who are the BIG AI actors? (discussing Sovereignty, Big Tech, and resource concentration)
- What really are the potential impacts? (environmental, social and economical issues)
- Where do we really need it and where do we not? (Ethical use, alternatives, and dependency risks)
Leave with actionable steps: how to choose what AI to use, advocate for responsible tech, and see the bigger picture in our digital future. No technical expertise required—just curiosity and critical thinking.
This workshop will open your eyes to some of the hidden costs of AI, however real change happens when we act together. By joining the EcoCounts community, you can be part of a group actively recording and reducing their environmental impact, advocating for systemic change, and working to end fossil fuel dependence.
Attending this event is just the start; becoming an EcoCounts member lets you take meaningful steps alongside others committed to stopping the climate crisis. Why stop at understanding when you can start making a difference? Learn more about how we work.
